· What are the dates of the outreach? Operation Gideon will be from August 10-30 2004.
· How long will the outreach last, from when team members leave home to arriving back home (including training, briefing and de-briefing, etc)?.
· Can team members join for part of the outreach? To participate in Operation Gideon we ask that you be with us during the entire program.
· Will there be any time for relaxation? Yes.
· Is there a personal baggage limit? What you bring YOU will have to carry. Since the Island period of Operation Gideon will require walking we suggest you pack light.
· Can team members arrange their own accommodation (during Operation Gideon) if they wish? No. We would like team members to stay together during the outreach. You will be responsible for travel to Athens and any other travel, outside of the Operation Gideon Program.
· What’s the weather like in August? Weather conditions in August generally are very hot and dry. You may want to bring some type of water bottle and sun screen and a hat.
· How much money will I need? Depends on your spending habits, extra souvenirs, food, snacks etc. ATMs are readily available.
· What is the age limit for team members? We request that you be at least 18 years of age if you are coming alone. If you are below 18 and part of a Church team, please have your team leader contact us. Maximum age would depend on your physical limitations. Participants should be physically fit and in good health.
· Will there be opportunities for families to do ministry? Families will be together on the same team if they choose to be.
· Will husbands and wives be able to work together on the outreach? Yes. Couples, like families, will be together on the same team.
· Will team members who travel in a group, (i.e. from a Church) work together during the outreach, or will they be split up? Teams (5-8) will not be split up unless your church sends more than one team.
· What kind of ministry will team members be expected to do? Evangelism, giving personal testimonies, drama, sketch board, praying, fasting, literature distribution, etc.
· Will team members make their own arrangements for travel to and from the islands? No
· What about the language issue - will translators always be available? Always? We will do our best to partner non-Greek speaking participants with Greek-speaking participants. Efforts will be made for Greek-speaking participants to help with translation and evangelism. Many Greeks know English. Tourism is the predominant industry on the Greek Islands-thus English is well used.
· How much will it cost to be a team member? Please contact us with your name, address and home church for the costs of Operation Gideon - You will be responsible for your own airfare to and from Athens.
Will the team members arrange their own travel and medical insurance? Yes!

No, Operation Gideon is a games outreach program of Hellenic Ministries and is in no manner affiliated with The Gideons International. Hellenic Ministries apologizes for any potential or actual confusion that may result from the reference to Gideon in the naming of this project.
